Men Do It For Longer Than Women Says Study

Differences in sexual libido can cause a great deal of stress

The majority of clinical studies we see at Ukmedix News come up with the most obvious findings and a recent one published by the British Medical Journal is no different. It has come to the conclusion that men stay sexually active longer than women! This research which was carried out by Dr. Stacy Tessler Lindau and Dr. Natalia Gavrilova from the University of Chicago was done by creating what they called a Sexually Active Life Expectancy. (SALE)  For example their study shows that on average a woman of the age of 30 has a SALE of another 31 years whereas men have a considerably longer average SALE.

Men Do It For Longer Than Women Says Study

The researchers noted that 2/3 of men between the age of 65 and 74 and over 1/3 of men between the age 75 and 85 had been sexually active in the previous year. This compares to a figure of only 40% and 17% respectively for women in the same age groups. The researchers admitted that the arrival of the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra were definitely partly responsible for men’s ability to continue having sex but were not the only thing which caused the differences in the SALE statistics between men and women.

Dr. Lindau also said that her study did not give the reason why women lost interest in sex and speculated that many of them continued to have sex for other reasons than purely for their own pleasure. She said that for example women could be having sex purely to give their partners satisfaction or because they “feel marital duty”.

Differences in sexual libido can cause a great deal of stress in a relationship and many married women feel a sense of relief when their husband’s interest in sex lessens. Some women have even complained that the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra have meant that they feel pressure to have sex more to keep their men happy.

It’s an unfair world but women can take comfort from the fact that at the end of the day men tend to die before them.

I am 40 and my husband is 78 and we have a very active sex life. So I think this article is right.

"at the end of the day men tend to die before them"??? This is so cynical. The fact is that most women are not sexually satisfied by the typical sexual techniques of brief foreplay and the old in and out, so of course they lost interest.
