OK, so this story technically isn’t really about erectile dysfunction but it was so incredible that following a discussion in the Ukmedix Newsroom we decided to include it on the site.

In a remote province of Egypt a 25 year old man took a knife and sliced off his own penis as a protest against his family after they refused to sanction him getting married to a girl who came from a family they considered to be lower class. The argument which had been brewing for a couple of years came to a head when the father told his son that the permission would never be granted. In this area of southern Egypt people are very conservative about marriages and they tend to be arranged by the parents as opposed to being love matches.
The man heated up the knife beforehand which led people to speculate that he was hoping that the penis would be sewed back on and that the heating would have lowered the risk of infection, however doctors despite attempting to, they were not able to put it back on.
The man however is stable in hospital and it is expected that he will soon be able to leave. The future however for this man will be bleak unless he manages to find some incredible surgeons who will be able to give him a new penis. Penis transplants have actually been done before but they leave much to be desired from the recipients.
As far as we know at Ukmedix News no penis transplant has ever been successful enough for men to be able to have sex, however we do know that men whose own penises have been sliced off (normally by jealous lovers) have sometimes been able to have them reattached and they work normally. Probably the most famous case was the one of John Bobbitt.

Its one thing to have it sliced off by a jealous lover but to 'slice it off yourself'!!!! how stupid can you be??????
