The Dong-A Pharmaceutical Company in South Korea has recently announced that it has gained market share with its Zydena impotence remedy from the makers of other erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. The sales of Zydena have been very good for Dong-A and the management released figures showing that in one year over 13 million dollars worth of the drug has been sold putting it in the top selling league for all drugs in South Korea.
Zydena started as a very ambitious project for Dong-A who has tried to take on the trio of Viagra, Cialis and Levitra with a home made erectile dysfunction medicine. Zydena is the 4th PDE-5 impotence drug in the world and has been fully approved and tested by the Korea FDA.
It is not being sold worldwide yet despite much interest, as it needs to be tested by the relevant drug authorities in different countries. In South Korea is nevertheless stealing market share from Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. The figures show that it sells more than Levitra that is made by Bayer but has still to beat Viagra and Cialis.
In South Korea Viagra’s market percentage fell from 55% to 49% and Cialis’s fell from 33% to 30%. Some market analysts said that Zydena could soon start to take big chunks out of the market share of Viagra and Cialis. One of the biggest advantages of Zydena is that it is simply much cheaper than Viagra, Cialis and Levitra with a price that is around 70% less than the others.
So far Dong-A is busy with plans to sell the drug in Saudi Arabia as well as other Middle East nations and is also hoping to tap into the Chinese erectile dysfunction market that could be hugely lucrative. The America FDA has also been clinically testing the drug and should soon be finished with their results. Ukmedix will keep you posted on Zydena’s developments abroad.
