Erectile dysfunction is the considered by many men as the worst illness that can happen to them. The problem can undermine their self-confidence and self esteem and turn them into different people. Relationships have been wrecked due to erectile dysfunction and men will sometimes break off a relationship purely because they don’t want the woman to know that they are impotent. The stress and anguish of impotence must be awful for a man in that he will stop seeing a girlfriend for fear of her finding out all about his problem.
Sometimes it can be worse of the woman knows that her man is impotent as he will react by blaming her or bringing up faults in their relationship as a way of distracting attention from the erectile dysfunction problem that he has.
Modern educated men while still suffering mental anguish from erectile dysfunction are slowly learning to deal with the issue in a responsible and mature way. On the other hand men who are uneducated and insecure and who hold on to antiquated taboos and stigmas associated with impotence will find that an erectile dysfunction problem is far more serious and stressful and they are unlikely to get help or to understand that the problem is normally easily treatable.
These days men are becoming less embarrassed about seeking advice about erectile dysfunction and this has been partly helped by the internet where there are hundreds of articles and information about impotence so that the man can be aware of what his problem is and what causes it before he gets advice and medication from a doctor.
Knowing that most erectile dysfunction is easily treatable has helped many men come forward and save their relationships from stress and anxiety as well as to give them a healthy sex life.
