The government of India is slowly beginning to take the problem of a fake erectile dysfunction medication seriously and working with the government agency called the Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR) they have been shutting down drug manufacturing facilities and arresting the owners of them. In all they have seized fake Viagra at seven different places right across India and have taken a number of men into custody.

Tens of thousands of pounds worth of illegal, substandard and dangerous erectile dysfunction pills were found in the raids, all of which will be destroyed after being used as evidence in court. India is only second to China as the country that produces the most amount of fake medication worldwide. Much of this fake medication is sold online by illegal websites that often claim they are selling the original products. It is not just erectile dysfunction medication that is being sold but practically all drugs available in the world are copied, nevertheless it is erectile dysfunction drugs that seem to be copied the most.
The police found fake versions of Viagra, Cialis and Levitra which on being tested were found to be completely dud and of no use whatsoever or which contained incorrect amounts of the active ingredients. At Ukmedix News we have even come across reports where Viagra pills are being made of cement mixed in with a blue dye.
The latest raid which took place in Nagpur is the largest seizure of fake Viagra in India to date and hopefully will send out a strong and firm message to other illegal producers of fake erectile dysfunction drugs that the police and government agencies are serious about stamping out the illegal manufacture of these drugs. Many of the illegal manufacturers of erectile dysfunction medication have their factories based in and around Bombay.
