In the UAE a survey of erectile dysfunction problems has revealed that more than 50% of men over 40 years old suffer from varying degrees of it. The study seems to confirm that erectile dysfunction may be caused by anxiety, street, depression, nerve damage, arterial damage as well as unhealthy living such as smoking, drinking, being overweight and lack of exercise.
Illnesses like diabetes, alcoholism, MS, atherosclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, and brain diseases make up nearly seventy percent of impotence cases. Type 1 diabetes causes more erectile dysfunction than Type 2 diabetes. Statistics show that between thirty five and fifty percent of diabetes sufferers get erectile dysfunction.
Diabetics are increasing all the time in the Unted Arab Emirates and this seems to be primarily due to the new found prosperity of the area is generating unhealthy lifestyles. There is a lack of education with regard to diabetes and erectile dysfunction in this region.
