Chinese Still Prefer Chinese Medicine

and then add either Viagra, Cialis or Levitra without informing the patient

Western drug companies are obviously keen to exploit the market for medications in China.  China which is one of the fastest growing economies in the world provides huge opportunities for drug companies such as Pfizer. However apparently it is not all that simple for these pharmaceutical giants to just walk into the Chinese market.

Chinese Still Prefer Chinese Medicine

The Chinese middle class which is estimated to number around 300 million citizens is still very reliant on traditional Chinese medicine such as acupuncture and herbal remedies. Western drug companies are having big problems in convincing them that western medicine is the way forward. The three companies which make the erectile dysfunction medications Viagra, Cialis and Levitra know this only two well. Pfizer, Eli Lilly and Bayer have not been able to crack the Chinese market for erectile dysfunction medication for two main reasons.

Firstly hundreds of independent drug companies have copied their drugs and sell them for a fraction of what the originals cost on the black market and even in pharmacies, with the government turning a blind eye to the practice, and secondly because the Chinese stubbornly refused to accept that clinically proven western impotence remedies work better than the traditional Chinese remedies.

In order to sell their erectile dysfunction products Chinese companies will produce supplements which they claim are completely herbal and traditionally Chinese and then add either Viagra, Cialis or Levitra without informing the patient. This way the man buying the erectile dysfunction remedy is content that he is using a natural Chinese remedy and at the same time is actually getting something that works.

At Ukmedix News we have even seen reports of Chinese people arguing that certain natural remedies are better unaware that they are in fact using something containing the active ingredients of Viagra. This practice is obviously extremely dangerous as there are some people who should not use Viagra, Cialis or Levitra and there are some side effects which should be explained to you by a doctor.

Pfizer, Eli Lilly and Bayer need to invest in education campaigns for the Chinese people so that they understand that grinding up a tiger bone or eating a rhinoceros horn will not actually cure them of impotence.
