..looked at three years of injuries sustained by rodeo riders

A group of Australian scientists have recently conducted a study which shows that rodeo riders are at considerable risk of erectile dysfunction because of pelvic injuries sustained as they practice their sport.

No More Riding For Rodeo Men

The study which will be presented at the annual conference of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons looked at three years of injuries sustained by rodeo riders which occurred due to a “high energy collision” between the pommel of a saddle and the pelvis.

Interestingly however the scientists noted that most of the younger rodeo riders were completely unaware of the dangers that their erectile function was being put under by continuing their sport, whereas the older riders knew of the risks. It was reckoned that the reason why the older riders knew was because they themselves had suffered from erectile dysfunction as a result of their sport or one of their sporting colleagues had done so.

Not only was erectile dysfunction experienced by accidents on the saddle but also extreme pain along with groin injuries. In one of the cases a man is still suffering from what some doctors say will be permanent impotence.

The researchers said that more needed to be done to raise awareness of the problem of erectile dysfunction with rodeo riders and that by modifying the saddles the likelihood of injury could be greatly reduced.

Recently manufacturers of bicycles saddles have modified the design of them to reduce the likelihood of pressure being put on the penile artery and the same could easily be done to the saddles of rodeo riders.

Another pastime which has known to cause many men to suffer from erectile dysfunction is motor bike riding. The vibrations from powerful motorbikes like the ones that Hell’s Angels drive are known to increase the likelihood of erectile dysfunction. In whatever sport that you undertake make sure that your vital organs are always protected and not subjected to too much pressure or vibration.
