Erectile Dysfunction Present In Young Men Too

Research conducted in the country of Poland shows that around 1.5 million men in Poland suffer from erectile dysfunction. The survey that was undertaken by the Polish Society for Sexual Medicine with sponsorship from the drug company Pfizer that makes the world famous erectile dysfunction drug Viagra looked at nearly 9,000 men over a two year period from 2005 to 2007.

Interestingly the results showed that while erectile dysfunction increases with the age of a man it is not a problem that is only associated with aging and that many thousands of young men also suffer from erectile dysfunction. The Polish Society for Sexual Medicine said that even men who are under the age of 30 can sometimes suffer from erectile dysfunction.
The survey results clearly showed that the likelihood of erectile dysfunction increases when you have a bad diet, when you do not do any exercise, if you are overweight or obese and if you suffer from conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes, [which are related to obesity]. The majority of the men who suffer from erectile dysfunction were seen to be those over the age of 50 and it was noted that prostate problems and high blood pressure where the biggest causes of erectile dysfunction in these men. In younger men it was seen that the majority of erectile dysfunction was not caused by physical implications but by a psychological one such as depression or anxiety and stress.
Another statistics that will be a warning to certain men is that twenty percent of those men who suffer from erectile dysfunction and who are under the age of 30 also use anabolic steroids. The researchers also claimed that only one in five men actually take the step to treat their erectile dysfunction with one of the trio of impotence medicines namely Viagra, Cialis or Levitra but worryingly close to 1/3 of the men go for other treatments like vitamin pills and herbs that have not been clinically tested and proven to help with erectile dysfunction.
The challenge that the manufacturers of erectile dysfunction medications face is getting men to come forward and get a prescription for their problem. Many men especially in smaller and more backwards societies prefer to remain silent about their impotence rather then go and face a doctor and a pharmacist with the problem.
