In some far flung areas of the world it seems that they haven't heard of Viagra. Recently reports have been coming in that the simple owl from Bangladesh is in being hunted extensively by illegal poachers who want to use the owl's brain and eyes for a magical potion said to cure erectile dysfunction and improve sexual stamina in men.
The head of the Wildlfe Protection Society in Bangladesh explained that that the problem was now acute with thousands of the birds being captured and concerns being raised over the possible extinction of the birds. Medical experts say that the brains and eyes of an owl have no effect on sexual function and that any improvement in sexual stamina is purely imagined.
In some research programs the placebo effect of erectile dysfunction medication has been as much as 40% and it is likely that men that take the owl aphrodisiac are unlikely to admit that it had no effect on them, thus perpertuating the myth that the owls brain and eyes actually work for erectile dysfunction.
Animals are extensively hunted in China and India for traditional aphrodisiacs and this can be dangerous for rare species. The advent of erectile dyfunction drugs like Viagra has had some effect on reducing the problem but there are men who still remain stuck in time and refuse to wake up to the fact that these animal erectile dysfunction recipes are of no use whatsoever and continue to destroy animal life.
The price that a live owl can be sold for is part of the problem with each bird selling for about sixty US Dollars; a huge amount for a poor Bangladeshi. Viagra, Cialis, Levitra and Uprima are the only drugs that are clinically proven to help with erectile dysfunction and impotence.
