by living a healthy life you are investing in your future sex lives...

New research seen at Ukmedix News shows that when men grow older the emphasis on good sex is still considerable despite the fact that these older men tend to have erectile dysfunction and other sexual problems. The research that was facilitated by the University of Chicago makes interesting reading as it sheds light on attitudes and perceptions of sexual problems among both male and female aging Americans.

American Older Generation Still At It

The researchers interviewed over 3,000 men and women between the ages of 57 and 85 and around 30 percent of the men and 25 percent of the women made clear that a good sexual relationship still was an important area of their life. Nevertheless despite the researchers reporting a high proportion of sexual problems only 28 percent of the men and women actually sought professional help for their problems. The researchers said that they saw a definite correlation between healthy people and a healthy sex life and that sexual practices among the older generation were not significantly different to the sexual practices among the younger generation, and that all doctors should be aware of this.

Other significant statistics were that 40% of males and 34% of females between the ages of 57 and 64 reported that they had sexual intercourse a minimum of once a week. The statistics showed that the numbers of men and women having sex as they grew older did diminish but nevertheless 23 percent of men between the ages of 75 and 85 still maintained sexual activity once a week and the figure was more less the same for women.

The numbers of men and women reporting sexual problems was high with 62% of males and 70% of females admitting that they had problems with sexual function and a quarter of the men interviewed said that as a result they were not able to have sex. 30 percent of women said that the sexual problems stopped them having sex too. Lack of desire was considerably higher in females then in males at 44 percent and 28 percent respectively.

What this research conclusively proves is that in order to maintain good sexual function for both men and women good health is essential. Remember that by living a healthy life you are investing in your future sex lives and this should serve as a lesson for you to eat healthily, to get exercise and generally take care of your health.
