there is a large potential drug market for a topically applied impotence cream

A drug company called NexMed has put out a press statement to say that the Food & Drug Administration in America has accepted its New Drug Application for an impotence cream. NexMed which is based in New Jersey has been developing the topically applied cream for some years. The active ingredient in the cream is called alprostadil and NexMed are confident that the treatment is effective and will be commercially viable.

FDA Agrees To Look At NexMed

The existing erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are extremely effective and work with over 80 percent of men. The problem with these medications is that they can interact with blood pressure medication such as nitrates and are also contraindicated for men who have serious heart problems. Therefore there is a large potential drug market for a topically applied erectile dysfunction medication which would allow the men taking nitrates or with heart problems to get treatment for impotence.

This is not the first time that Ukmedix news has come across a topically applied erectile dysfunction medication as we are aware that there are a number of other companies investing in similar impotence remedies. It will still be a few years before any of these products come on to the market and are readily available for men in the United Kingdom. They need to undergo years of testing for safety and effectiveness before the relevant to health authorities will allow them to be sold freely.

There are number of suspect products on the market which are widely advertised on the internet which claim to be “Viagra Creams” to cure erectile dysfunction. The chances are they are completely ineffective as they have not been properly tested by any relevant medical authority. Ukmedix News will keep you up to date on any developments with topically applied erectile dysfunction treatment and until something has been properly tested either by the EMEA in Europe or the FDA in America it really is not worth trying it.
