The man in question Mohammed Azim Dad from Berkshire was charged with breaking section 92 of the 1972 Trademarks Act. The judge noted also that by not producing a prescription and selling controlled medication he was also putting people’s lives at risk, something that the MHRA confirmed.

Mohammed Dad may also have some of his assets confiscated under the Proceeds of Crime Act which allows the court to confiscate any further ill gotten profits. The judge also noted that the defendant had a business degree and also United Kingdom pharmaceutical qualifications so he could not claim to be unaware of the law regarding pharmaceutical regulations.
