Maxi-K Gene Treatment Could Restore Erectile Function

Written by Stuart Stevens | Wednesday, 21 May 2008

Maxi-K Gene transfer could improve all aspects of sex.

More research coming from the 103rd Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Urological Association shows that gene therapy may be the remedy of the future to cure men suffering from erectile dysfunction.

Maxi-K Gene Treatment Could Restore Erectile Function

Scientists presented research done with the Maxi-K gene therapy remedy which we have already written about at Ukmedix News before. This method of treatment is a gene transfer technology which has undergone phase I clinical trials in men and shown to be safe and effective. The researchers said that the curative affects of the Maxi-K gene therapy continued for up to six months.

This treatment would be especially effective for men who are unable to take the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis or Levitra due to the fact that they are taking medication for their hearts which are contraindicated.

A lot of testing with this gene transfer has been done on monkeys and the results showed that monkeys had a larger amount of ejaculation, sustained erections for a longer time and even had increased intimacy with sexual partners.Whereas Viagra, Cialis and Levitra purely increase erectile function the researchers are speculating that the Maxi-K Gene transfer could improve all aspects of sex.

The clinical trials involving humans were done on eleven men who suffered from moderate or severe erectile dysfunction and who had previously tried Viagra, Cialis and Levitra unsuccessfully. In all cases there were no adverse side effects and this means the proper clinical testing to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment in humans will go ahead.

Ukmedix News will be looking out for the results of this fascinating new research which could again revolutionise the market for erectile dysfunction treatment in the same way that Viagra did when it came on the market.
