Very often there is no active ingredient whatsoever...

A new European Union report says the country of India is the largest producer of fake medicines that have been seized in the European Union. The report covered the year 2006 and says that 31 percent of all bogus medication caught by customs officials and police in the EU was originating from India. The United Arab Emirates also came under fire for being the second biggest exporter these medications but in fact does not produce them but merely is a convenient port to ship them through. In third place was China with just eight percent and it is likely that these medications were actually made in China. The report concluded that these three nations are exporting around 80 percent of all the fake medicine of the world.

The report authors also noted that it is sometimes difficult to tell exactly where these medicines are coming from as they are often shipped around the world to ports that have easier access to western markets. A huge proportion of the fake medicines were the erectile dysfunction medications Viagra Cialis and Levitra. Mr. John Pulford From the European Commission said that it was important that the European Union spoke to the Indian authorities to stop the export of these illicit and dangerous medications. In 2006 two and a half million items were confiscated whereas in 2005 only half a million items were seized.  It is not sure whether this dramatic increase is due to the stepping up of customs searching or whether it is because the export figures from these countries have greatly risen.

At Ukmedix News we know all about the problem of fake erectile dysfunction medication in Europe and we know that the vast majority of it is substandard. For example the manufacturers of these fake impotence pills will often be working in unhygienic conditions and make the drugs incorrectly. We have come across erectile dysfunction medication that is either too strong or too weak and very often there is no active ingredient whatsoever. The criminals that make these pills even go as far as to make them out of cement and just colour them with a blue dye in the case of Viagra.

These companies make a lot of money from selling the bogus medication through spam emails that gullible people click on. At Ukmedix News we would like to remind all of our readers that they must never buy any erectile dysfunction medication online that does not require a prescription from a UK doctor.
