In a move welcomed by Ukmedix the UK police raided the operations of a number of online websites selling fake erectile dysfunction medication and arrested the people behind them. The UK is keen to crack down on these illegal websites that sell fake and sometimes dangerous erectile dysfunction medicines.
The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency or the MHRA for short thoroughly looked at 27 websites all of which claimed to have medication for erectile dysfunction as well as treatments for obesity and hair loss. All drugs for the cure of erectile dysfunction require a doctors prescription before medicines can be dispensed and none of these websites were asking for these and many of them gave misleading information about the side effects and contraindications of the drugs.
When buying drugs from these websites often you are dealing with a company in India or China that has either smuggled the fake drugs into the UK or send the drugs from abroad hoping that the customs police will not intercept your package. The sale of illegal drug online or otherwise is a serious offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
The police raids were sudden and had the element of surprise meaning that the fake medicines, the computers and other evidence of the cimes could be recorded for later court action. The raids were help in Reading, Hayes, West Drayton, Bedford, Worcestershire, Wigan, Halisham, Newhaven and in other UK locations.
These websites advertise prices that are so low that the drugs must be fake yet the public is still falling for the scams and continue to prop up these illegal and medically dangerous sites.
