Illegal Impotence Drugs In Finland

The trading of impotence drugs online is overloading the postal workforce in Finland. Officials at the Customs Department say many hours are spent intercepting these illegal packages with the result that other areas of business are suffering.
The number of parcels intercepted was 4 times higher in 2005 compared to 2004 and this figure only represents a small part of the actual trade as it is estimated that the majority of illegal medicines get through the postal system untouched. In January and February 2006, sixty five infractions of the law were noted, which will be very time consuming to monitor and prosecute.
The illegal drugs tend to be picked up on air freight planes coming over from India and Thailand and also in the baggage of returning passengers. The Customs Department said that they expected the amount to increase over the next year unless more drastic action is taken. Well over 50% of the confiscated drugs are erectile dysfunction drugs with almost five thousand pills being picked up that had either sildenafil citrate or taldalafil, the active ingredients in Viagra and Cialis respectively.
The Finnish authorities are warning people not to buy drugs online except from reputable online pharmacies that demand prescriptions and are able to give medical advice. Many illegal operators send you dud drugs and some are even dangerous. While erectile dysfunction pills are the most popular illegal imports there are also scams involving diet pills and hair growth pills.
The illegal operators pretend that they are based in the EU and adhere to EU standards but most of the setups are based in India and Asia, where the erectile dysfunction medicines are very cheap. Prosecuting buyer and sellers is very difficult due to the fact that the buyers often claim that they had no idea that what they are doing is illegal and the sellers are out of reach in the heart of Asia.
