We have come across some erectile dysfunction facts and statistics recently that we thought we would share with you. Most of them appeared in an article about impotence that was seen in the American Journal of Medicine. The authors of the article warned that staying fit and healthy was by far the surest way to ward off erectile dysfunction.
Apparently according to recent research over 18 million US men are suffering from erectile dysfunction and when you analyse these men you can clearly see that nearly 90% of them have other health issues that are linked to heart disease such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high levels of bad cholesterol or they smoke. The men who suffer from erectile dysfunction are also likely not to do any form of exercise and to be more overweight or obese.
The funny thing is and we have seen this at Ukmedix is that if you tell a man that he needs to get fit because it is bad for his heart and that one day he will end up with heart disease he is likely to ignore you. However if you tell that same man that he needs to get fit or healthy because it could be that he will suffer from erectile dysfunction in the future he is much more likely to listen very carefully and to do something about his lifestyle and eating habits.
The warnings that are placed on cigarette packets in the UK about the fact that smoking can cause impotence are much more likely to be heeded than warnings about heart disease and cancer, which at face value is crazy as erectile dysfunction is not as medically serious as the other two. It seems to get a man to listen to his health problems you need to relate it to his ability to produce an erection, as that is the sure way he will listen you!!
