This impotence gel would be topically applied...

About a year ago there was a lot of excitement in the press when the pharmaceutical company Futura Medical announced that they had been researching and developing a special gel that could cure men of erectile dysfunction. The great thing about this gel was that it would be topically applied meaning that men who could not use the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra would be able to use this remedy to help them sustain erections.

impotence gel research moves forward

The latest news is that Futura Medical has just signed a worldwide development and licensing contract with SSL International for the new gel which has been code named MED2002. A few of the details of the contract were announced such as that Futura Medical will receive royalties on the sales of the erectile dysfunction gel provided that all health authorities permits are given and sales targets are met.

The hook up between SSL and Futura Medical is basically a partnership which will allow the development and research of the erectile dysfunction gel to continue. Research and development always costs vast amounts of money and small drug companies struggle to raise the amount of capital required. Under this new deal SSL will now be contributing 65 percent of all the research and development costs with Futura contributing the rest.

Interestingly however a similar development agreement for the MED2002 had already been signed with GlaxoSmithKline, but the agreement was terminated last May. This does mean that maybe GlaxoSmithKline did not feel that there was much future in the gel however this is definitely not the opinion of SSL who are pumping millions of pounds into the product.

Thousands of men who suffer from erectile dysfunction are unable to use the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra due to heart problems or because they are using drugs called nitrates which counteract badly with PDE-5 inhibitors. If the erectile dysfunction gel is proved to be effective and safe to medical authorities it will make millions of pounds and there will be thousands of very grateful men around the world.
