Ukmedix is aware of the growing phenomenon seen in Universities all over America and the UK that shows that erectile dysfunction is becoming more common with younger men. It seems that the free loving and promiscuous youth are being plagued by impotence problems that were not so prevalent (or maybe not so talked about) 20 years ago. Well the reason for much of the erectile dysfunction is alcohol. Alcohol in big quantities can numb the nerves in the penis and interfere with the blood flow to the penile artery thus making it difficult or impossible for a man to get an erection. In the UK this is nicknamed ‘Brewers Droop’.
Other causes of erectile dysfunction among this group of students are drugs. Cocaine may give you amazing confidence and you may feel that you can make love to any woman for a long time but in fact cocaine is known affect the neurotransmitters in your body and interfere with some important chemicals needed for the erection process. All unhealthy living leads to bad health that is linked to a higher chance of getting erectile dysfunction.
Some people say that marijuana is good for sex because it relaxes you but the science says the opposite with reports showing that it can lead to a lower sperm count too. It is true that being relaxed is important for sex and that a glass of wine might just get you in the mood, but any use of drink or drugs that is taken to excess is bound to mess up things in the erection department.
Not many people know that even the legendary playwright William Shakespeare had an opinion on alcohol and erectile dysfunction saying that drinking would ‘provoke the desire but take away the performance’!
The demand for Viagra, Cialis and Levitra is rising among older people who like to party and then be able to perform sexually. This is not advised by doctors who say that PDE-5 inhibitors are not meant just to negate the effects of alcohol but are there to help people who have a serious medical impotence problem.
