and would boil the testicles of a goat in milk

It is simply amazing how many “traditional” remedies for erectile dysfunction there are. All over the world every single country has its own special way of curing this problem. At Ukmedix News we have even come across remedies involving nuts, tigers, rhinos and crocodiles. All these remedies tend to involve both very dangerous and “masculine” animals (tigers, rhinos) or consist of foodstuffs which resemble parts of the either the male or female genitalia, (Nuts). The sad fact is however that all of these traditional remedies have absolutely no effect on a man’s erectile function or female sexual function.

Crazy Impotence Remedies

Erectile dysfunction remedies have been around for thousands of years and even brilliant minds like the Greek Hippocrates had his own theory on the condition.  He believed that too much horse riding could induce erectile dysfunction and it is possible that he may have been just a little bit right. It is practically common knowledge that too much riding on a bicycle can cause erectile dysfunction and therefore it is perfectly feasible that in the same way riding an uncomfortable horse which put pressure on the area just behind the testes (perineum) could cause problems.

Another Greek philosopher friend of Hippocrates blamed childhood problems for the impotence condition and this again is perfectly feasible as people who suffer from stress and anxiety and liking to suffer from psychological erectile dysfunction. In ancient Persia remedies for erectile dysfunction consisted of almonds, pistachios, bird eggs, (getting the drift?) as well as fresh dates. The Indians tended to go for the real thing and would boil the testicles of a goat in milk or those of an alligator and then rub them on the feet of the impotent man. The ancient Egyptians believed in using a paste made of crocodile hearts and oil and rubbing it straight onto the penis.

Sadly none of these remedies had any real effect on erectile dysfunction but they may have boosted the confidence of the men who used them and therefore helped them to relax which would have in turn made them sustain harder erections.
