Tips To Prevent ED From Cycling

Everyone has heard the story that riding a bicycle for too long can cause some men to suffer from erectile dysfunction and there is truth in it too. Sitting on a hard bike seat for hours and hours can cause the penile artery that feeds blood into the penis when you achieve an erection to get squashed and damaged as a result. Casual cycling is not going to give you erectile dysfunction but men who cycle more than three hours a week could be putting themselves at risk.
There are however a number of things that you may do to minimise the risk of erectile dysfunction happening. Simple things like wearing padded shorts that are specially made for cyclists and can be found in cycling shops will take the pressure directly off the perineum and spread it around a bit. Research has also shown that if you put the handlebars higher you it will make you sit more upright and thus the pressure will be shifted from the sensitive perineum to the more comfortable buttocks.
Other tips are to use wider or at least well-padded and softer seats in place of the very thin and hard ones that are seen on racing bikes. If you make sure that the when you are on the bike that the seat is not so high as to mean that your weight rests solely on your perineum and make sure that your legs are always taking some of your weight. Also make sure the inclination of the seat is slightly downward, as this will shift more pressure on your buttocks and away from your perineum.
Use some common sense too. Things like changing your seating position and taking breaks between bikes rides will always help. If you note a tingling feeling in your penis be careful and take a break from cycling for a bit, or at least get a different bike seat. New anti impotence bike seats are being made by some manufacturers that completely take the pressure of the perineum and you should buy one of these to prevent any damage to your erectile function.
