A new survey done in Australia shows that over 25% of all men in Australia have some form of erectile function problem. The research which was carried out by Kew-Kim Chew based at the Keogh Institute of Medical Research in Western Australia looked at 1,500 men over the age of twenty who were selected completely randomly from the population. The results showed that 25.1 percent suffered from mild or moderate erectile dysfunction and 8.5 percent of these men had severe erectile dysfunction meaning that they were unable to get an erection at any time.

The researchers said that many of the men who suffered from erectile dysfunction did not go to see a doctor but preferred to suffer in silence. Out of the 25 percent who suffered from erectile dysfunction only just over half of them said that they had gone to see a doctor for treatment but this meant that the others continued to suffer without getting help.
The researchers were also concerned that some of the men suffering from erectile dysfunction were young men whose self esteem and confidence would be greatly affected by the condition. It is possible that stress and anxiety connected with new sexual relationships as well as the heavy responsibility of adulthood and independent living could be partly responsible for the erectile dysfunction in young men.
On the whole erectile dysfunction in younger man tends to be of a psychological nature as opposed to a physical problem. This means that the actual sexual organs of the man are in good condition but psychological factors come into play which prevents them from getting an erection. People who suffer from psychological erectile dysfunction need to learn to calm down and relax in order to get an erection.
It may be useful for you to talk to your sexual partner and explain the problem that you have as research has shown that couples who talk about erectile dysfunction are far more likely to solve the problem quickly and effectively.
