We all know that it is the embarrassment and stigma of the problem that is the biggest cause of men not seeking help for erectile dysfunction problems in the UK. However we have come across research that in some Arab countries the problem is even worse and that men are therefore much less likely to get help for erectile dysfunction in these countries.
Men in Arab countries may feel that the humiliation of going to see a doctor or a pharmacist may be just too much and would rather suffer in silence. This could lead to great frustration that is sometimes taken out on their wives and children. Erectile dysfunction is not only a simple physical disease but can also have some nasty and harmful psychological consequences which are made worse when it is bottled up and not dealt with.
The impotence problem in Arab countries is growing all the time in the more affluent States like Dubai and much of the UAE as men become overweight and obese which is a major cause of obesity.
The link between being good erectile function and masculinity is very strong in the Arab culture and thus they suffer more from the shame of impotence. Education about erectile dysfunction has shown that the vast majority of impotence has nothing to do with being less of a man but it is just a simple medical condition that is caused by bad blood flow through the penile artery.
There is a growing tendency for men in Arab countries to either buy illegal or fake Viagra, Cialis or Levitra online so that they don’t have to face a doctor. The other thing that they do is go to a pharmacist and by the drug themselves and while this is legal without a prescription in say Dubai it is worrying because not all men understand the side effects and contraindications of using these impotence drugs which can be dangerous if they are not used properly.
