First Rhino Horn, Now Swedish Antlers

A couple of days ago Ukmedix News reported on the problem of rhinos in Asia being killed so that their body parts could be ground into special powders that supposedly help men who have erectile dysfunction. Ukmedix News has seen research that shows that these powders are just a load of rubbish and have no medical properties whatsoever.

Just when we thought that the problem was confined to Asia we have learned that in Sweden the same problem exists (though it is not so severe) in that some men think that if they take tablets which contain the ground up antlers of a reindeer they will improve their sexual function. In Sweden the problem is not so severe for two reasons firstly the Swedish people are financially better off than most people in Asia and therefore the drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are easier for them to buy and secondly the Swedish people are generally better educated and less likely therefore to believe in traditional remedies that have no scientific basis for working.
Ukmedix News has also seen reports that the biggest market for the ground antlers is not actually in Sweden or in Europe but in Asia. It seems that some Asian men just will not learn! At least the good news is that the market for these Swedish antler Viagra pills is small enough that reindeers are not being faced with extinction. Apparently the company that makes these tablets from antlers does not actually hunt reindeers but merely relies on taking antlers that have fallen off naturally. A male reindeer will shed its antlers on a yearly basis and thus by walking through the forest it is quite easy to find them lying around.
All over the world men are prepared to eat any part of any animal that is associated with virility and manhood in the belief that they will gain some extra sexual function as a result. In the little island of Malta in the Mediterranean for example it is known that men place a great premium on eating the balls of a bull. The penis of a tiger is also very highly prized in many Asian countries and the list goes on and on.
At Ukmedix News we want to remind our readers that none of these remedies have any proven erectile function benefit and unless you are prepared to convince yourself that what you are eating will really work (and thus make use of the placebo effect) you are just wasting your time.
