The company Global Wellness LLC based in the American state of Florida has just announced that it will be recalling one of its products called Via Xtreme Dietary Supplement for Men. As is the case with so many dietary supplements, it was found to contain a whole range of ingredients which were not stated on the packaging or the labeling.

The product which comes in the form of blue capsules was tested and found to contain chemicals which are similar to the active ingredient of the erectile dysfunction medication Viagra. The chemicals were sulfoaildenafil methanesulfonate, sulfosildenafil and dimethylsildenafil, none of which have been tested by any medical authority around the world and therefore could be extremely dangerous to health.
Apart from the fact that these chemicals are untested they are likely to interact dangerously with men who take nitrates for blood pressure problems and therefore who would not be given prescriptions for Viagra. In fact many men who are warned by their doctors not to use prescription erectile dysfunction medication turn to these types of supplements believing that they might help them, when in fact they are likely to cause some severe medical problems and even death.
Global Wellness, LLC said that they are cooperating with the Food & Drug Administration in organizing this voluntary recall, and that they had no idea that the products were made with these compounds. At Ukmedix News we believe that all supplements should be subjected to much more stringent regulation than at present and that distributors and shops which sell them should also be made criminally liable if they are found to contain dangerous chemicals not stated on the packaging.
These types of supplement have been known to kill and ruin lives and the manufacturers of them should be charged with manslaughter and criminal negligence rather than just be given a fine and a slap on the wrist.
