Giving Impotence Meds To Animals Is Not A Joke

At Ukmedix News we have come across quite a few instances of people giving the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra to their pets and other animals “as a joke”. Well, we realise that some people may find the idea of getting their animals sexually aroused amusing or they may think that the drugs will help them to mate with other animals but this is not the case. Even if these drugs did have an affect on the sexual function of your animals it is extremely dangerous to give them any erectile dysfunction tablets because the side effects have not been properly tested and you could end up seriously harming your pets or even killing them.

Giving Impotence Meds To Animals Is Not A Joke

You may also think that because the majority of drugs are tested on animals before they are given to humans that there could be no harm in animals using them, but in fact every single animal has a completely different genetic and biological makeup which could mean that something which is harmless to you could kill them and vice versa.

Incidentally the Viagra erectile dysfunction drug was tested on some animals and the results were far from satisfactory.  For example when Viagra was given to rats their livers swelled up dangerously and in the case of mice they became severely constipated. Viagra was also tested on beagles and they produced no difference in erectile function but instead it gave the animals very stiff and painful necks.

A couple of years ago a medication which was deemed to be safe in animals was tested on students and nearly caused the death of a number of them. It had previously been tested rabbits, rats, mice and even monkeys who are thought to be genetically very similar to humans. Another thing that you should beware of is that even something as harmless as chocolate can be very dangerous to dogs and could even cause their deaths if they eat too much.

So remember that your erectile dysfunction medications are for you and you only and you shouldn’t even give them to your friends because they are prescription medications and only a doctor should hand them out.
