The latest warning regarding dangerous erectile dysfunction medication comes from the health authorities in Canada and concerns a product called Eros Fire. This product which was tested extensively in laboratories was found to be laced with a chemical called xanthoanthrafil which is also known as benzamidenafil. Not very much is known about this chemical except that it is a new compound and it has not been subjected to clinical testing for safety or effectiveness. Judging from the name of the drug it is likely to contain similar characteristics to the class of drugs which sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil (Viagra, Cialis and Levitra) belong to.

Health Canada warned that since there is so little clinical information about this chemical the usual side effects associated with erectile dysfunction medication could be greatly enhanced by using Eros Fire and as a result they warned men to stay well away from it. What makes this Eros Fire product even more dangerous is that there is no mention at all that it contains untested chemicals on the labeling or the packaging.
Criminal organisations that produce sexual enhancement products are becoming increasingly sophisticated in manufacturing their products and are employing scientists to come up with compounds which they hope will not be noticed by health authorities who routinely test all medicines. If they use for example the active ingredient of the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra, namely sildenafil, they are likely to be caught out pretty quickly, however if they use a variant of sildenafil it becomes more difficult to pick up and they avoid Patent problems with the original manufacturers of the drug, (in this case Pfizer.)
Health Canada warned that Eros Fire would probably be sold in health shops and on the internet and also highlighted that men who used it had reported problems with heartbeat, headaches and hypersensitivity to light. If you have used this product you should immediately inform your relevant and local health authority and possibly get a checkup from your doctor.
