In a further attempt by the European pharmaceutical industry to get men to discuss the problem of erectile dysfunction they are sponsoring what is nicknamed the 'erection bus'. This bus which is staffed with a number of erectile dysfunction experts is driving across Europe stopping in populated areas to invite people to come in and have a chat.

The bus which is planning to travel right across Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and France is getting mixed reactions when it arrives in the centre of towns.  For example when the bus arrived in the middle of Sittard, a Dutch town there were very few people interested in discussing their sexual problems, however apparently in Portugal the situation was very different with men quite happy to queue up for a consultation.

Selma van Diest, who is giving advice on the bus said that the fact that Portugal has an expensive public healthcare system may be part of the reason why men were keen to get a sex consultation free of charge. However most people when questioned said that the idea of walking onto a public bus which is clearly out in the open to discuss their own sexual problems would be unthinkable and that they would rather go for discrete consultations.
