ED Is A Health Warning

An interesting statistic announced by Doctor J. Lee from Canada is that 80 percent of men who get heart attacks have previously experienced erectile dysfunction. Doctor Lee went on to say that those men who went to get a proper check up and spoke to a doctor when they started to suffer from erectile dysfunction may not only be increasing the chances of getting proper treatment for their sexual problems but were also increasing the chances of avoiding a potentially fatal heart attack.

Doctor Lee explained that the penile artery is around 1mm in diameter and that blood vessels to a normal heart are between three and 4mm in diameter. If the penile artery therefore is becoming blocked it is extremely likely that the heart arteries are also becoming restricted thus increasing greatly the chances of a heart attack. Some doctors even say that impotence is the human body’s natural way of warning a man that he needs to do something drastic about his health.
Doctor Lee also explained that studies had been done which showed that many men suffered from heart attacks within three to four years from the first occasion they suffered from erectile dysfunction. He said that men should immediately start to get an overall checkup for underlying health conditions when they first suffered from erectile dysfunction.
Very often erectile dysfunction is caused by things such as smoking, being overweight and unhealthy living which causes the arteries to block up. Many men are unaware that there is a clear link between erectile dysfunction and unhealthy living and doctors have been urged to warn men about this connection. The chances are that if you suffer from erectile dysfunction you’re not really suffering from a sexual problem but that it is a side effect of another more serious illness which you should deal with immediately.
