Erectile dysfunction drugs have not only revolutionised the sex lives of men but also the sex lives of women. A number of surveys seen by Ukmedix News shows that women are far more sexually active in their seventy's and eighty's than previous generations and that they are willing participants who enjoy their sex lives.

According to a Swedish research project which is been carrying on since 1971 and which is looking at the attitudes to sex among people of 70+, the number of men and women continuing to have sex into old age has risen in married men from 52% to 68% over the last 30 years. In married women the increase is even greater with a rise from 38% to 56%.
Not only are 70+ married couples experiencing more sexual activity but unmarried people are too. Unmarried men of 70+ reported an increase in sexual activity of twenty percent from 34% to 54% and incredibly the biggest increase was seen in unmarried women over the age of 70 who reported an increase in sexual activity from 0.8% to 12%. The researchers also noted that the number of men and women over the age of 70 who reported having sex more than once a week was 31% in men and 26% in women. More than 1,500 men and women were interviewed for this survey which was paid for by a consortium of Swedish charities and health foundations.
While this research may appear to be positive and show that older people are now able to indulge in sexual activity it should also be noted that it is quite normal for men and women when they reach their older years to stop having sex. A number of sexual experts are concerned that research like this can make some people feel inadequate about the fact that they don't have sex anymore.
The erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra can be credited with giving people the freedom to choose whether they want to have sex or not as they grow older.
