More positive clinical testing has been released by the pharmaceutical company VIVUS concerning its erectile dysfunction medication avanafil. The company is happy to announce that an all important Phase 3 study has met all of its primary endpoints. The clinical trial which was given the name REVIVE TA-301 was designed to test the safety and effectiveness of avanafil. The results showed that men recorded successful intercourse attempts within 15 minutes of taking the tablets and even after six hours.

The trial which was conducted in a placebo controlled, double blind and randomized format involved almost 650 men all of whom had a medical history of erectile dysfunction. All of the men underwent four weeks of no treatment followed by 12 weeks of either 50mg, 100mg, 200mg or a placebo. The results were measured using the Erectile Function Domain score of the International Index of Erectile Function and a Sexual Encounter Profile questionnaire. It was noted that avanafil was particularly well tolerated and showed a very low incidence of the typical side effects that tend to be reported with PDE5 inhibitors such as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra.
More Phase 3 studies studies are planned for avanafil which will include its effectiveness for the treatment of diabetic men suffering from impotence and also for those men suffering from impotence after having had radical prostatectomy. Avanafil is likely to be the next big thing in the world of erectile dysfunction medication and VIVUS are hoping to differentiate the drug from its rivals Viagra, Cialis and Levitra by stressing that not only will its side effects be considerably less severe but also that it will last for 50 percent longer than both Viagra and Levitra.
While more clinical testing is required to meet the very stringent regulations of the Food & Drug Administration in America concerning all medications, avanafil is likely to gain full approval in near future and approval in Europe by the EMEA should come soon after.

...if this medication will contribute to faster recovery of erectile function following nerve sparing radical prostatectomy it will be a godsend. . .

I'm diabetic and have tried all three types of Viagra without success. My last type was Levitra in 20mg tabs. They had a little effect but not the desired one. Maybe a bigger dose would help ? Otherwise I'm counting on Avanafil.
