The head of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia has suggested that the Therapeutic Goods Administration, [the equivalent of the MHRA in the UK] should actually make it a standard part of the operations to buy and test all medications sold online. Mr. Plunkett from the PSA said that people in Australia were relatively unaware of the dangers that counterfeit medications posed.

At Ukmedix News we have seen how the process of purchasing medication online has resulted in the arrest of many individuals in the UK as well as to help the MHRA gather evidence about supply chains of impotence medication coming in from other parts of the world.
The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia is aware that like in the UK there are some reputable online pharmacies which source real medications from real pharmacies. The challenge is to differentiate between those who sell the real thing and follow the correct procedures and those that don't.
Basically, the way we view it at Ukmedix News is that if an online pharmacy does not follow correct procedures and offers prescription medications without a prescription then it is breaking the law, and is definitely not selling you the real thing but will be peddling you a substandard fake and probably dangerous version of what you need.
Another thing to be aware of is that a prescription is part of the process of buying drugs so that medical questions can be asked about your condition and potentially lifesaving checks can be made before you use them.
For example not everybody knows that if you are taking nitrates for blood pressure problems and you also use one of the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis or Levitra you could end up passing out and becoming seriously ill.
A recent Korean research project presented to the Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Urological Association noted that in some cases the ingredients of fake erectile dysfunction medication were almost 2.5 higher than legally prescribed and that other batches contained lead and mercury.
Ukmedix uses Pharmacheck so that you can check which UK pharmacy your impotence medication is coming from and nobody gets medication unless a doctor approves it following an online consultation.
