A Broken Penis Can Usually Be Fixed

in 77 percent of cases after one year penile rehabilitation was complete

Research done at the Urology and Nephrology Center in Mansoura University based in Egypt shows that if you get treated for penile fractures quickly you should regain full erectile function after a few months and have no long term problems. The researchers who treated over 150 men over a twelve year period from 1986 followed their rehabilitation and examined those who suffered from erectile dysfunction with colour Doppler ultrasonography.

A Broken Penis Can Usually Be Fixed

They saw that in 77 percent of cases after one year penile rehabilitation was complete with no further problems. Ten percent reported scaring, almost eight percent reported erectile dysfunction, just over one percent said the erectile were now painful and just over three percent reported penile deviation. The researchers said that those who suffered from scar formations tended to be those who were treated using nonabsorbable sutures and thus they advised that they should never be used for the surgical interventions. Overall surgery only required a short time in hospital and recovery tended to be quick too.

The researchers noted that in over 50 percent of all cases the penile fracture was caused by vigorous sexual intercourse which resulted in unilateral corporeal ruptures in almost 90 percent of cases and bilateral corporeal ruptures in two percent of cases. In some penile fracture cases (8.4%) no tunical tears were present at all.  Nine percent had concomitant urethral injury.

It is good to know that should you literally break your erect penis the chances are that provided you get down to the hospital quickly you will be able to get back to 100 percent erectile function. What you must not do is try and hide your problem and think that it will go away on its own because in the majority of cases penile fractures require surgery in order to heal properly.

At Ukmedix News we advise that you firstly take care of your penis and don’t for example jump off a wardrobe when having sex, (apparently a lot of people do this and get badly hurt) and secondly if you do snap your penis go straight to hospital!

I am 18 and have had this problem since I was in grade 4, when I accidentally cut my penis with a razor.

I'd rather bite a bullet than see a doctor.

Sadteen please go and see a doctor he will be understanding and more important he will be able to help you. Don't suffer in silence, that is the worst thing you can do. Also many men have had this problem you are not alone.

what course of action do I take a year after the injury? I foolishly waited for it to heal on its' own. Now, erections are present but weak. Is their any medical intervention or physical therapy type intervention available that will restore me to my former self?

Will, one year later is bad but not impossible, if you leave it any longer you may reach a state of non return. Please go and see a doctor TODAY!!!!

I have broken my penis twice. First time, I saw a urologist who did hopsital surgery to correct. Second time, I called the same doctor. He just laughed. Now my erections are quite painful, and I have decided to have my penis amputated. For real. I have a sex change surgeon in Brazil who will remove my penis, testicles and scrotum for only $10,000 US. I have made the commitment. I'm not happy with doctors who laugh at patients in distress!

Mine was apparently broken at some point during fem fem bypass surgery and a lot of swelling. I didn't notice at first. It initially wasn't bent very much, so I said what the heck. It has been about 7 yrs.

When i was masturbating when i was 13, I decided to see how far my penis could bend. using one hand as leverage on the left side, i bent it to the left. I heard a small pop and had slight pain. But, I never had any bruising or anything like that at the time. So here are the issues: a. im worried this may have stunted some growth of my penis since then (im now 24) b. my penis, when flacid, prefers the left. If i pull on it and straighten it out, it eventually pulls back to the left side. c. when i have an erection, there is a slight indent on the left side giving it a thinner shape at the bottom of the shaft. d. after sex, i sometimes have some pain in my penis. e. i am concerned that when i have sex, this issue causes premature ejaculation. i talked to a urologist and he basically told me nothing he could do. the bend is minor, but i dont want it getting worse and i want to know if theres anything i can do to improve my situation.

About 4 years ago, during sexual relations with my partner,(over/under)under slid from collapsed pillow, which bent my member sharply down. 'pop' lots of pain, bruising and subsequent sharp bend, and inadequate blood flow for full erection. I am late 50's now, can this be fixed? This is causing big problems in relationship as performance is greatly diminished.
