A potential new cure for male pattern baldness is bringing hope to millions of men around the world. The treatment which some doctors say could potentially completely reverse the effects of a receding hairline involves the use of your own platelet-rich plasma being injected into your scalp.

The other magic ingredient is a compound which comes from the bladder of a pig and twenty men in the UK have signed up for the treatment. Dr Reddy, a Harley Street doctor from the Private Clinic is working in conjunction with the American Dr Gary Hitzig. They both claim that it is the nearest thing to a "cure for male baldness."

The treatment is supposed to work by creating a protective barrier which stops existing healthy hair follicles being damaged by the natural genetic process of male pattern baldness. The doctors who claim to have had support from the British Medical Board also said that the treatment could even potentially duplicate surrounding hair follicles and tissue.

It should be remembered that while this treatment might help some men it has in no way been proved to be a definite cure for male baldness and men should be wary and cautious before signing up for treatment.

At present the only clinically proven method to stop the effects of male pattern baldness is taking the hair loss drug Propecia from Merck which has some positive effect in around 90 percent of men and a very good positive effect in over 50 percent of men.

The success of the Propecia drug depends on which part of your scalp is suffering from hair loss and your own particular genetic makeup but it is without a doubt the statistically proven method of preventing you going bald.

You should always discuss hair loss treatments with a doctor before signing up for anything and you should ask for independent clinical evidence of success rates. Testimonials are complete waste of time, and should be ignored completely.

Propecia works just fine, but if there is something that would work better. Why not to try it? It this comes out to be truth, I would definitely get it.

Propecia works fine for me too, I have been using it for nearly a year now and am very happy with the results.
