Ukmedix has learnt of a new hair loss treatment that the makers claim can produce results in some men and women. The treatment is called Thymuskin can be used as part of a hair loss treatment program to re grow hair and stop further shedding of hair. The manufacturers of the treatment also advocate the use of hair supplements and teaching the patients all about the reasons why people suffer from it.
Thymuskin contains a stimulative compound that appears naturally in the human body and which starts to appear in smaller quantities the older one gets. The compound is called thymosin which is naturally occuring hormone produced by the thymus gland. Research on the compound has shown that thymosin can boost the amount of T-lymphocytes which are cells designed to defend against infectious agents in the blood and thymosin is also said to stop auto-immune functions that kill hair follicles. The researchers also believe that alopecia is a less severe but nevertheless an auto-immune disease.
Thymuskin has been put through clinical testing and two out of three men were found to have had some positive results while in women the figure was higher with 95% saying that the treatment was working for them. For men and women suffering from alopecia areata the figure was 85% positive. Overall the treatment was seen to be more useful in women than in men but the men's results were by no means insignificant.
Female hair loss tends to be more traumatic than hair loss in men. A woman hair is a big factor in her beauty whereas for a man hair is not so important.
