Hair Transplants Becoming More Acceptable

becoming more sophisticated and less obvious

It is slowly becoming more and more socially acceptable for men to have hair transplants. Hair transplant surgeons around the United Kingdom are reporting steep rises in both the amount of enquiries and actual surgical procedures that they perform every year. Not only this, but with treatments becoming more sophisticated and less obvious more men are opting for them as an alternative to going completely bald.

Hair Transplants Becoming More Acceptable

There was a time when hair transplants surgery was clumsy, extremely obvious and very expensive and this led to only very few men bothering with it. There is nothing more ridiculous looking than a poorly performed hair transplant and you’d be much better off with no hair than bad hair. Another factor which is playing a part in the increasing popularity of her transplant surgery is the number of well known celebrities who now make use of it.  A number of them have even been quite honest and frank about their treatments rather than trying to pretend that the sudden regrowth of their hair was natural.

Another reason why many more men decide to go for hair transplant surgery is because it is becoming cheaper due to economies of scale. Quite obviously the more surgical procedures that hair loss clinics perform the cheaper they can offer them for. These days a standard surgical hair transplant procedure could cost around £5,000 which is considerably less than say a decade ago.

Hair transplant surgery should be considered as a last resort to beat hair loss because there are other non surgical treatments available which are not only cheaper but in some cases just as effective. Probably the most effective nonsurgical hair loss remedy is the drug Propecia which prevents male pattern baldness in the vast majority of men. Propecia which is a prescription medication prevents the buildup of dihydrotestosterone in the scalp which is the cause of male pattern baldness.
