The amount of cash that continues to pour into hair loss research is still growing and recently Ukmedix News has learnt of a new hair loss treatment that has received venture capital funding. According to news reports the Hercules Technology Growth Capital Company has given $10 million in debt financing to a company called Neosil Inc. that is doing research on a hair growth peptide.

Hercules Technology Growth Capital Company specialises in providing finance for life science research and is confident that good things will come about from his association with Neosil. The research that it is sponsoring involves the development of a hair growth peptide that will be a prescription only hair loss remedy for men with androgenetic alopecia and could be a serious competitor to the hair loss remedy Propecia made by the drug company Merck.
The new hair growth peptide recently finished its phase IIa clinical trials and the results clearly showed that there was a significant rise in the number of hairs on patients who used the peptide. The financial implications for producing an effective hair loss remedy especially for male pattern baldness are huge. Over 50 percent of men will eventually suffer from male pattern baldness and will be prepared to spend considerable money to cure themselves of the problem.
At present there are only two real drug options for men who suffer from androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness), and they are using the drug Propecia (finasteride), and also the drug minoxidil. These are the only two medications that have been clinically tested and proven to boost hair growth in men who suffer from male pattern baldness. Any other medication is not likely to help you at all.
At Ukmedix News we keep a constant eye out for any new hair loss remedies and will inform our readers if there is anything worth trying.
