That first initial shock of hair loss can have men running around in a panic and not knowing what to do. They don’t know whether to go and see their doctor, pretend that they don’t have hair loss, change their hairstyles or to change their diet. What we have seen however is that the internet is often the first place that they turn to get information as it is anonymous and easy to access and you can be sure that the vast majority of men who suffer from male pattern balding know what the cause of their hair loss is today as a result.
While this has its advantages and gives men quality information on hair loss there are also some dubious websites offering bogus and untested medicines online that you must be very wary of and stay well away from. Basically the rule is that if what is offered online isn’t made by a well known and reputable drug company than the chances are that it has not undergone clinical testing and it is therefore likely to be a waste of time.
Some of the websites are very skilled in that they lull readers into a false sense of hope and come out will all sorts of bogus statistics about the effectiveness of their products but it is important to check the facts and find out if the drug or medicines has proper EMEA or FDA approval and whether it is a properly licensed medicine. Many of the so called hair loss treatments are in fact just Vitamin supplements and some natural herbal tonics that can make you feel better but they have no proven hair loss prevention data available.
Arguably they may ensure that you do not suffer from any vitamin deficiencies that could cause hair loss but they are not going to actually reverse the process of genetic males pattern baldness that is caused by the build up of dihydrotestosterone that is the primary cause of the hair follicles falling out.
Propecia and Minoxidil are the only clinically tested medicines that have been shown to stop the build of the DHT in the scalp. If and when there are any other medicines that have been proven to do the same then Ukmedix will let you know about it. Until then your best bet is Propecia made by Merck from the compound finasteride that requires a prescription from a doctor and also Minoxidil that you do not require a prescription for.
