Over 1,000 men and women were questioned for this survey...

Ukmedix News has come across some interesting research regarding hair loss attitudes and the way people perceive male pattern baldness and alopecia. The study that was done at the Hair Sciences Centre based in Colorado in the United States claims that people think that good thick hair gets you a better job. The results of the survey also noted that people reckon that men who have good hair and don’t suffer from hair loss are also more successful.

Hair Loss Survey Shows Negative Perceptions

The study even went as far as to examine people’s perceptions of hair loss and intelligence and almost half of the people questioned reckon that people with hair loss were not as intelligent as people who have a full head of hair. At Ukmedix News we know that hair loss and intelligence are not linked in any way however it is distressing to think that some people associate hair loss with a lower IQ. [They are the ones who probably be have a low IQ.]

Over 1,000 men and women were questioned for this survey and it appears that there are many prejudices regarding hair loss in men. Over 60 percent of people believe that your hair speaks volumes about you and that having a full head of hair in a man is important to get an attractive partner. What we know at Ukmedix News is that when it comes to attracting the opposite sex hair loss can be a concern for men, however but other research that we have come across shows that men who try to cover up their male pattern baldness with wigs or comb over haircuts are perceived by women to be lacking in confidence and therefore not as attractive as a man who takes baldness in his stride. The worst thing that a man can do when he is going bald is to worry too much about it and his best bet is to relax and to get medication for the problem.

A man who feels that his job prospects and career path could be negatively affected by hair loss may worry a lot about it and this could affect his work performance and his confidence thus creating a vicious cycle. Men must take heart from the fact that some of the world’s most successful men have lost all their hair and let it play no part in getting in the way of what they wanted to achieve.
