Hair Loss Options

Written by Stuart Stevens | Wednesday, 14 February 2007

The Choice Is Yours....

So what is it going to be? Your hair has started to thin and you are in a panic. Do you….

Hair Loss Options

1.     Do nothing and convince yourself that hair is not important?

2.     Keep your hair very short?

3.     Shave your head and beat nature to it?

4.     Get a hair transplant?

5.     Buy Hair Loss Drugs?

6.     Buy a wig or toupee?

7.     Grow a comb over hair cut?

Ok let’s look at all the different options one by one and evaluate them….

1.     If you are happily married and your wife loves you for who you are and hey she’s getting on a bit too then you’ll probably find that hair isn’t much of an issue in the scheme of things. All your friends are probably bald too so it’s not really a problem. If on the other hand you are a young stud around town or you have a job that demands an impeccable and well groomed appearance then things might be different and you should face the facts and get some treatment or help.

2.     Keeping your hair short is always a good idea when hair loss first appears. It simply minimises the bald patches and makes your hair look thicker.

3.     Shaving your head? If you look like Bruce Willis and you work out this could be the option for you. Show the ladies that you don’t give a damn about hair anyway and hey you have more time on your hands now for other stuff as you don’t have to worry about shampooing and combing.

4.     Hair Transplant? This is a drastic option that needs to be considered carefully. It’s expensive and make sure you go to well respected hair loss surgeon who can show you the results on other patients. A bad hair transplant is worse than no hair at all.

5.     Hair loss Drugs? This option makes sense for men at an early stage of hair loss as it can stop the hair loss getting worse and with Propecia you can sometimes even regrow hair. Watch out for gimmicks and fake and untested hair loss remedies. Propecia is the most tried and clinically tested hair loss drug in the world with over 4 million regular users.

6.     Wigs and Toupees? Like with hair transplants wigs are worse than no hair when they are below standard. They highlight your hair loss like a beacon and you’ll have the whole world sniggering behind your back. We don’t say no way to wigs and toupees but keep it real and remember no diving into the swimming pool!

7.     A Comb Over Hair Cut…? Don’t even go there.

All in all remember that surveys have shown that women prefer a bald man to man who tries to cover up his hair loss with a comb over or a wig. If you are bald or going bald and you don’t want to do anything about it just keep it in your stride and don’t let it bother you.
