we come across a lot of weird and wacky remedies to cure male pattern baldness

An extremely rare book called Natura Exenterata (meaning Nature Unbowelled) which was first published in 1655 contains a whole list of remedies for illnesses including a strange one to cure male pattern baldness.

Nature Unbowelled Hair Loss Remedy

According to the book if you collected a whole lot of bees and dried them out and then rubbed them all over your scalp you could counteract hair loss and possibly grow back your hair. At Ukmedix News we come across a lot of weird and wacky remedies to cure male pattern baldness but this one has to be the winner.

Among other treatments in this book there are remedies to cure you for feeling depressed, (viper juice) and for healing a wound, (writing words across your chest with your own blood). In all there are over 1,700 bits of advice for dealing with health problems of all kinds and the fact that there is a remedy for hair loss shows that it obviously worried men even in these times.

There are only fourteen recorded copies of this book in the world and this makes it extremely valuable. The exact way to make the hair loss potion is to use bees which are working making honey, and after drying them out completely grind them into a powder form. Having done this you then mix the powder with oil and made it into an ointment which you then rub into your scalp.  The book says that if you do this hair will grow “certainly” and “without pain”.

The reality is that male pattern baldness can only be cured with either Propecia or by using minoxidil. There are no other proven remedies which have been clinically tested to cure male pattern baldness. So don’t try the above remedy at home……
