Obviously it is much more stressful for a woman to lose her hair than for a man to lose his hair. Nevertheless some men do suffer a great deal of stress when they start to experience male pattern baldness but since many of their peers and friends will also be suffering from the same condition somehow is just not so bad.

If you walk down the road today you are likely to bump into a good deal of men who are suffering a little bit of balding or who are even completely bald, but if you walk down that same road you can be pretty sure that you will not see one single bald woman. This does not mean that women do not suffer from baldness but only that they just don’t allow anyone to see it. A woman who is suffering from baldness will simply either make sure she wears a scarf to cover it up or if her confidence is so dented by her lack of hair she may not venture outdoors at all.
A woman suffering from alopecia may not actually be ill, but her condition is defined as an illness simply because it impinges greatly on her quality of life and makes it impossible for her to live normally. Male pattern baldness is not quite as serious an illness but nevertheless does affect the confidence of men and causes them great distress.
In a way men are the lucky ones for while there are more cases of more male baldness then female baldness, going bald as a man is not such a terrible thing and also there are better treatments for male pattern baldness. The best treatment that is on the market called Propecia is a drug that is only allowed and designed to be used by men and is in fact dangerous for women to use it. Propecia is an easy to use and effective hair loss remedy which works for well over 80 percent of all men, but at present there is no female hair loss remedy which is anywhere nearly as effective.
Women who suffer from hair loss must either try to use tonics and lotions that can stimulate hair growth on bald patches or in extreme cases they must opt for hair transplants which can be costly and which must be done by very skilled surgeons.
