Luna Innovations, a research organisation based in the United States has recently put forward the discovery of a nanomedicine prototype which could help to grow new hair follicles. The researchers said that one of their nanomedicine prototypes when tested on mice quadrupled the amount of their hair follicles. These mice had been specially genetically bred for the research to have no hair and the nanomedicine prototype allowed them to grow new hair follicles.

This research is extremely complicated and involves the intricate knowledge of genetic processes which cause the biological processes of hair growth. We are not going to load you with the details of this research except to say that it looks exciting and could be the future of a new hair loss remedy. It is becoming increasingly clear that genetic science is the way forward to beat the problem of male pattern baldness and in fact all types of baldness. Millions of pounds are being invested in genetic research all over the world to come up with a way of regenerating hair.
There are many hair loss remedies which work by rejuvenating and strengthening hair follicles which slow down the problem of hair loss but (with the exception of Propecia in some men) there is nothing that actually cures male pattern baldness completely. A genetic remedy to cure male pattern baldness would be a godsend for millions of men all around the world. It could have the same effect on men suffering from male pattern baldness as Viagra has had on men who suffer from erectile dysfunction.
While some men are quite happy to live with male pattern baldness others find it destroys their confidence and would be sure to pay large amounts of money for genetic treatment.
