Why Women Suffer From Hair Loss

Stress and anxiety are known to be causes of hair loss in women...

The majority of hair loss occurs in men and is of the type called male pattern baldness which is genetic and not related in any way to diet, lifestyle or anything else. However in modern societies in developed countries the incidence of hair loss with women is growing. There are a number of factors why this is the case and this article will outline some of them.

Why Women Suffer From Hair Loss

Statistics show that females have a 35 percent likelihood of suffering from some form of hair loss by the time they attain the age of 50. Very often female hair loss is because of a change in the level of their hormones which is a condition that is known to be hereditary. For example many women note that their hair starts to thin when they go through menopause. This occurs because their bodies start producing less of the hormones progesteroneand estrogen which are the all important female sex hormones. Women also experience a rise in hormonal levels during pregnancy which drop off after the birth of their child.  This drop in hormonal levels can cause some women to suffer from thinning hair immediately after they give birth.  This hair loss is almost in every case temporary and disappears away after a few months.

Another scourge of modern western society is that women get obsessed with their weight and thus they go on crash diets where they eat next to nothing. This can mean that their bodies go into shock and the lack of certain nutrients that are essential for healthy hair are not present and hair loss occurs. In some rare cases when women start eating normally again their hair does not grow back and therefore at Ukmedix News but we strongly advise women always to eat healthily.

These days women are expected not only to bring up children but are also often found in the workplace where they have high pressure jobs and thus they undergo a big amount of stress. Stress and anxiety are known to be causes of hair loss in women and it can be a vicious circle as women get more and more stressed about their hair loss which causes them to lose even more hair.

Women who perm and dye their hair excessively or who braid it very tightly sometimes suffer from weak hair that eventually starts to fall out. At Ukmedix News we advise that women should not to mess around too much with their hair and anyway it is a commonly noted fact that women look most beautiful with their natural hair colour.

Overall women need to make sure that they eat well and that they look after their hair so that they will reduce the chances of suffering from female hair loss during their lives.
