The United States Food & Drug Administration has warned that people using either Total Body Formula or Total Body Mega Formula could end up suffering from significant hair loss as a side effect. The Food & Drug Administration said that 23 people have suffered from “serious reactions” within a week of taking the supplements which come in a liquid form.

The supplements which come in a whole range of flavours look completely harmless but as well as hair loss have shown to cause diarrhea, tiredness, cramps and pain in the joints. The FDA specifically said not to use Total Body Formula coming in the flavours Tropical Orange or Peach Nectar and not to use Total Body Mega Formula in the flavours of Orange or Tangerine.

It is likely that the hair loss which occurred from people using the supplements was due to large amounts of selenium in them. Selenium has been known to cause hair loss in people who take too much of it and is only needed in tiny amounts in the body for good health.

It is also worth noting that your diet will have very little effect on male pattern baldness or other types of hair loss. It is true that healthy eating can produce healthy hair but if your hair is actually falling out you are likely to have some underlying problem which is unconnected to your diet. If your diet is so bad that your hair is falling out the chances are you are seriously malnourished and would be suffering from other health serious health problems.
