In America and in Europe the Hair loss industry continues to expand and the present estimates suggest that as many as 80 million Americans are suffering from hair loss. Recently an organisation, the American Academy of Dermatology, has been organising Annual National Hair Loss Awareness Months to raise awareness of the issues involved with hair loss and also to promote the different remedies that are available for men and women for hair loss.
Many people know of Propecia and Minoxidil treatments for male pattern balding but not many know of new remedies that are coming onto the market each year. For example Laser Combs are a new hair loss craze that have been shown to work in hairloss cases. The way they work is by giving out a low level laser therapy that can actually stimulate hair follicles and encourage healthier growth in the scalp. The laser combs are hand held and can be used by both men and women at home.
Another hair loss remedy that is growing in popularity is Microscopic Detection. This is more of a preventative treatment that seeks out hair loss before it is actually seen by the human eye. By using video microscopes like the Folliscope made in South Korea doctors can locate thinning areas of the scalp before the hair loss become noticeable and before it becomes more complicated to cure.
There have been noticeable advances in hair transplantation surgery recently using highly advanced micro-surgical procedures that minimise the scarring and irregularily placed hair that was often very noticeable in older treatments. And lastly there are a host of new nutritional supplements that can make certain that you have the right amount of the various compounds and vitamins that are needed for good hair growth.
Ukmedix advises that much research needs to be done before using new hair loss products however and reminds it readers that only Propecia and Minoxidil are approved by the E.M.E.A in Europe and the F.D.A in America.
