New research done by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (or ISHRS for short) shows that some men rank having a full head of hair extremely highly on their list of priorities. In fact they noted that almost 60 percent of men would swap a treasured possession in exchange for getting their hair back. The ISHRS decided to compare how highly men rated their hair when compared with some of their possession such as stereo systems, cars, TV’s and boats and to see which one they would give up for their hair.

The results showed that over a quarter of the men questioned would be easily give up their stereo system in exchange for a full head of hair, over twenty percent said they would give up their mobile phone, seventeen percent said they would give up their expensive car and seventeen percent said that they would give up their laptops. To show how men prize their boats only six percent of men said they would give up this possession (probably the ones who had very small boats).
The ISHRS said that men want their hair back because without it they do not feel so confident and they feel anxious. The survey is interesting because it shows the extent of the desire for men to re-grow their hair. At Ukmedix News we know that some men would give up a lot for healthy hair and that some men really would give up very little as they place very little importance on having a full head of hair.
We have noticed that the two biggest factors that determine whether a man is suffering as a result of his hair loss are connected to his age and to the work that he does. Obviously younger men suffer more than older men when their hair starts to thin and men who have jobs that require them to maintain a certain appearance worry more about losing hair then say accountants and desk bound people.
