Ukmedix congratulates Dr Akshay Batra of the Dr Batra's Positive Health Clinic for winning the Robert Olding Award for this year. The Robert Olding Award is given out yearly by the The Trichological Society of London for excellence and outstanding achievement as well as personal endeavour in the area of trichology. What is different about this years recipient of the prize is that he is the first non-UK located trichologist to ever be honoured by this award.
Trichology is a very specialist field that is the study of hair and scalp problems and illnesses and many people with hair loss, male pattern baldness and itching scalps go to see trichologists all over the globe. The winner of the award for this year namely Dr Batra has been working in the hair loss and trichology field for over 23 years and has many thousands of happy patients.
The award was set up by Mr Robert Olding who can claim to be one of the first certified trichologists in the UK and who has over 50 years of practical experience in the hair loss field. Trichology is slowly becoming a much more respected profession as more and more advances are seen in the field of hair loss and scalp care. Drugs like Propecia and Minoxidil are often prescribed by trichologists to help in the process of hair restoration and have been proven to be very successful at times.
