Stress Can Aggravate Male Pattern Baldness

Written by Stuart Stevens | Sunday, 21 January 2007

In India and in many countries where there is a great deal if change afoot the number of hair loss cases seems to be on the increase and the age at which it strikes is going down. Many people who have been forced by changing lifestyles are put under a great deal of stress and this is linked the increase in hair loss throughout India. Longer work hours and vast amounts of work are causing much higher levels of stress than usual for Indian cities and thus men and women are seen more at Indian trichologists and doctors specialising in hair loss.

The hair loss for a man that is caused by stress must not be confused with hair loss that is caused by male pattern balding. They have completely different mechanisms and have to be treated in different ways for any treatment to be successful. What often appears to be the case in India is that many men are suffering from male pattern balding that is aggravated by the stress that they are put under.

Stress has a big effect on the levels of adrenaline that are found in the bloodstream and this causes a type of androgenic hair loss. Women in India who feel that they are under pressure to be thin and look good at all times often change their diets that can also effect their hair and cause balding. These women often suffer from hair loss due to the low levels of iron and protein in their diets.

Even lack of vitamins can cause hair loss so the first thing that anyone should check if they begin to suffer from hair loss is their diet but remember that your diet would have be seriously deficient before it would cause hair loss. Conditions like Anorexia and bulimia are two big indicators of hair loss in women.

The thing to remember if you are experiencing hair loss is that you need proper diagnosis. If it useless to treat male pattern balding with diet and stress related hair loss with say Propecia. So get your self a consultation first before you do anything and get to the root of the real cause of your hair loss.
